Internship opportunity at OKDISCD

Internship programme at OKDISCD is open for young scholars from diverse Social Science disciplines. The aim of the programme is to provide opportunity to scholars to improve their research and analytical skills and get an out- of- classroom exposure to the nuances of doing Social Science and policy research.

Expected Outcomes

Selected candidates are expected to carry out research and provide support to the ongoing study to which they will be attached with. Candidates are also expected to submit a report at the end of the internship period, and there will be regular review of progress. It is a full time programme, therefore, regular attendance is required, besides participation in other events of the Institute. Furthermore, the internship is based at the Institute campus and no remote or hybrid mode is possible under this programme.

Who can apply

  • Students enrolled in full time degree programmes (Bachelor, Master, M. Phil, PhD) depending on their course requirements.
  • Candidates who have competed their Masters and are looking for opportunity to enhance their research skills.

Duration of internship

The duration of the internship is for a period of not less than six (6) months.

However, students enrolled in full time degree programmes (Bachelor, Master, M. Phil, PhD), flexibility of duration, depending on the course requirements, is admissible.

Application Process

Interested candidates may apply online by filling google form, which will be notified in the news section of the Institute’s website time to time. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated. The selection will be sole discretion of the Institute. A fellowship of Rs 5000/- per month shall be paid only to the interns enrolling for six months internship period. However, the Institute will not be able to provide accommodation. On successful completion of the internship, candidates will be given a certificate. Applicants are requested to submit their application along with a CV and a short research proposal within 1000-1500 words, after which a round of personal interview will be held. On selection, the Institute will allot a mentor to each selected candidate based on the area of interest of the Faculty.
